Well, I honestly didnt read much of this book but ill try to write a book review.
The tone of this book was struggle and going through hard times. Antonia had just moved from another country and has trouble adjusting.
Her family was succesfull in Bolivia and when they come to America, it was a whole different story.
The main characters were Jim Burden, Antonia and her family, and Jims grandparents.
.
Even though i didnt finish, i would recomend this book because its really easy to read, and is written on an easier reading level

First nine weeks of Junior Year
Well I guess you could say I've had a decent first nine weeks of my junior year. I had a lot of fun on the golf team, even though we didn't do as good as I expected. School is going okay, just getting used to a lot faster pace of work! I like some of my classes, and dislike some but i guess its always like that in every grade. My grades are going to be the worst they've ever been so I'm sure i'll be hearing a lot of that from my parents. I'm ready for the weather to get colder, and for some snow days!
4 paragraphs
I guess you could say it has been a very up and down time for my family and I. As most of you all know my wife, Amy, was diagnosed with cancer in 2009. It is nothing short of a miracle that I am standing here today, with this Master's trophy. Golf has not been the only thing on my mind this week, and Amy was on my mind every shot. Walking up the eighteenth hole, the tears began to fall down my face. With the support of so many people, and great doctors I have been able to get back into golf, knowing that my wife will be alright. Amy, fighting this battle with cancer, is recovering on time and is doing well.
Many Americans show respect for the environment in various ways, but at the same time a large number of American people show much disrespect. One way the American people show respect is by recycling and “thinking green”. Whether it is recycling your newspaper everyday, or car pulling to school, little changes like these can make a word of difference. The average person is not so good to the environment. Littering is a big problem that not only looks bad, but can also have some costly effects on our environment in the long run. Cleaning up litter is very costly for our country,(totalling 11 billion dollars a year), and is also breeding ground for many disease causing insects. Americans, as a whole, are not doing enough and really need to improve.
I learned very many interesting facts at UACCB's carer day. The first session I attended was roboticts, and learned that there is a high job demand in that field because companys are trying to eliminate people from factories, and replace them with robots. Although it would be fun, operating a robot, I don't see roboticts as a career for me. The next session I attended was about becoming a lawyer. Becoming a lawyer would be a lot of hard work, but would be a very rewarding job. Being a lawyer, causing me to work hard, wouldn't be easy. I think it would be tough to get into law school, and I would have to work very hard in college. UACCB's career day was very helpfull and fun, and I feel like I learned very much helpful information.
Antonia is considered a "mother earth" archeotype because of how hard working of a person she is. I like to think of mother earth as a hard working person, but at the same time there is bad luck. Antonia is a hard worker, but at the same time she knows her place. She worked very hard, even if she was

Book 2: The Client(over 400 pages)
The second book I read this year was The Client by John Grishham. This is one of the better books i've read, mainly because I'm a big John Grishham.
In my opinion, the theme of this book is that although you may know the truth about an important topic, its important to be safe about who you tell.
The main characters are Mark, Ricky, and Dianne Sway. Mark is the older brother who knows some vital information on a murder. Ricky is in the hospital the whole time in and out of a comma, after witnessing the suicide of another important character, Romey.
I will say this book is written very similar to many of John Grishhams other novels, as a connection, but is very suspenceful and leaves you guessing.
The Client is a great book and I highly recomend it to anybody. It kept me turning the pages, and I could hardly put it down.

Book 1: Scar Tissue(over 400 pages)
The first book I read this year was Scar Tissue by Anthony Kiedis, and it was great.
The tone of this book is struggle and perseverance. Anthony had a long life struggle with drugs, and many other issues and in his life.
The main character is Anthony of course, but some other big parts in his life are his father, Flea, John and Chad. Many of these were later his band mates and also good friends.
The plot, although it is an autobiography, is a very up and down plot. Anthony is in and out of drug binges his whole life, and has much trouble resisting the temptation.
This is a great book, and is very up and down and always keeps you wondering what will happen next. I highly recommend this to anyone.
